Translation and inter-cultural studies
Paul Golf is currently the Director for the MA Chinese-English Translation at the University of Bristol and Head of Translation for language consultancy firm He and Partners. His academic background is in Chinese Studies, specializing in conference interpreting, translation and cross-cultural negotiation, with a particular focus on clinical trials and medical research. From 2016-current he has consulted for the UK Newton Fund’s research into antimicrobial resistance in rural China.
Paul’s research interests include East-West collaboration and integration, and the philosophical constructions of Western identity and spirituality. He is the author of the book The Coming Chinese Church which examines the life and work of unregistered churches in contemporary China.
In the charity sector, Paul served as Trustee and Chair from 2016-2021 for Noble Tree Foundation, an organization addressing the housing crisis in the UK.
